SKOOG Music

I have to thank my colleague, Aimee McDonald (Y5 Leader at GEMS Royal Dubai School), for making me aware of the following piece of tech. Brilliant!
As one who has had the delight of instigating and implementing a music programme for children with Special Needs, I am just as pleased to be able to highlight this wonderful piece of technology - the SKOOG.  There was never a more difficult day in the week or a more moving moment, than when children from all the schools in Levin, NZ, descended on our music room at Levin's Waiopehu College. It was crazy to say the least. These children went away every week changed - and so did we. I could never teach those classes. It was my friend and colleague Ann Matthews who was the special person who understood these children and enabled the magic to happen.
The SKOOG is brilliant. It's programmable and its tactile! You can stroke it, press it, hit it, drop it - just don't bite it! Its expensive £500 - in money terms. In terms of what you will do for these students? Money pails to insignificance.
